join us in helping to restore and to preserve the
Waikalua Loko Fishpond as a hands-on science center
for Hawaii's children. Explore the traditional Hawaiian
Waikalua Loko Fishpond and learn first-hand about
its living history, thought to be as old as 600
years.
Waikalua
Loko Fishpond Preservation Society (WLFPS) welcomes
volunteers to help clean up, restore the fishpond,
maintain and preserve the fishpond so that it may
continue to be a living resource for teaching ancient
Hawaiian culture and history in Hawaii.
WLFPS invites individuals and organizations to contribute
their time, talents and/or cash donations to better
enable ongoing support for community-assisted restoration
and preservation projects; research and study of
the Waikalua Loko Fishpond for the purpose of providing
ongoing historical documentation and development
of teaching materials on the pond and its place
in Hawaiian culture.
